Teen Patti Master Rules & Hand Rankings – Beginner Guide

Teen Patti Master rules and hand rankings guide

If you’ve just installed Teen Patti Master and the table moves too fast to follow, don’t worry – that’s how almost everyone starts. Teen Patti looks complicated because people bet, see, pack and ask for a “side show” all within a few seconds. Once you understand the hand rankings and four or five basic moves, though, the whole game makes sense. This guide covers exactly that, in plain language.

In short: every player gets 3 cards, everyone puts a small “boot” amount in the pot, and players take turns betting or folding. The best 3-card hand at the end – or the last player left – wins the pot. The order of hands from best to worst is: Trail → Pure Sequence → Sequence → Color → Pair → High Card.

Teen Patti Hand Rankings (Highest to Lowest)

This is the single most important thing to learn. Keep this table open the first few times you play.

Teen Patti hand rankings chart with odds – Trail, Pure Sequence, Sequence, Color, Pair, High Card
Teen Patti hand rankings from highest to lowest, with the chance of each hand
Rank Hand Example Chance
1 Trail / Set – three cards of the same rank A♠ A♥ A♦ 0.24%
2 Pure Sequence – three cards in order, same suit Q♥ K♥ A♥ 0.22%
3 Sequence / Run – three cards in order, mixed suits 4♣ 5♥ 6♠ 3.26%
4 Color / Flush – three cards of the same suit, not in order 2♦ 7♦ J♦ 4.96%
5 Pair – two cards of the same rank 10♠ 10♣ 3♥ 16.94%
6 High Card – none of the above K♠ 8♦ 4♣ 74.39%

Notice something interesting? A Trail is slightly more common than a Pure Sequence, yet it still ranks higher – that’s simply the traditional rule. And three out of four hands you get will be just a high card, which is why bluffing matters so much in this game.

Which sequence is the highest?

A-K-Q is the top sequence. In most Teen Patti rules, A-2-3 comes second, followed by K-Q-J, Q-J-10 and so on down to 4-3-2. Wrap-arounds like K-A-2 are not counted as a sequence.

What if two players have the same type of hand?

  • Trail vs Trail: higher rank wins (A-A-A beats K-K-K).
  • Pair vs Pair: the higher pair wins; if equal, the third card decides.
  • Color or High Card: compare the highest card first, then the second, then the third.
  • If everything is exactly equal, the pot is usually split.

Basic Words You’ll See at the Table

  • Boot: the small starting amount every player puts into the pot before cards are dealt.
  • Blind: playing without looking at your cards. Blind players bet less per turn.
  • Seen (Chaal): once you look at your cards, you become a “seen” player and must bet at least twice the current blind stake.
  • Pack: folding – you give up the hand and lose what you’ve already bet.
  • Show: when only two players remain, one can pay to ask for a show; both hands are revealed and the better one wins.
  • Side Show: a seen player can ask the previous seen player to compare cards privately. The weaker hand must pack. The other player can accept or refuse.

How a Round of Teen Patti Master Works

1. Boot and deal

Everyone pays the boot, then each player gets three cards face down.

2. Betting turns

Turns go around the table. On your turn you can bet (blind or seen), ask for a side show, or pack. The stake can rise as players bet more, and there is usually a pot limit set by the table.

3. The end of the hand

The round ends when everyone except one player has packed, or when two players remain and a show is called. The winner takes the pot, minus any platform fee the app charges on cash tables.

Game Modes in the App

Besides classic Teen Patti, most versions of the app include variations that change the rules a little. Common ones are:

  • Joker: one or more cards act as wild cards and can complete any hand.
  • Muflis: the rankings are flipped – the lowest hand wins.
  • AK47: every Ace, King, 4 and 7 becomes a joker.
  • Other card games: many builds also offer Rummy, Andar Bahar and Dragon vs Tiger as separate tables.

The exact list changes with app updates, so check the lobby of your current version. If you’re not sure which version you have, our Teen Patti Master APK page explains how to update.

Beginner Mistakes I See All the Time

  • Calling every hand: with 74% of hands being just a high card, staying in every round is the fastest way to empty your wallet.
  • Seeing cards too early: once you go “seen”, every bet costs double. Sometimes playing blind for a round or two is cheaper.
  • Ignoring side shows: refusing a side show with a weak hand can cost more than packing.
  • Jumping to high tables: learn on the lowest boot amount first.
